September Events

We are celebrating the beginning of the new university year with a couple of special events on campus – all welcome! On Thursday, September 9th, as part of Week of Welcome at the University of Alberta, I will be hosting students and faculty at Dewey’s Pub. Come between 3:30 and 5:00 pm and enjoy a cup of fair trade coffee and Dewey’s famous sweet potato fries and get to know your MP.

On September 15, Paul Dewar, Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre and New Democrat Foreign Affairs Critic. will speak at a public forum called, A Foreign Affair: Canada's Role in the World. Join us at the U of A campus and bring your questions and comments for what is sure to be a lively discussion.

And finally, a big thank you to all those who came out to our summer Meet Your MP events and to those who volunteered their time to help make those events run smoothly! Our End-of-Summer barbecue (pictured above) was a success with the Local 488 Plumbers and Pipefitters volunteering their time to cook the local, organic beef and bison burgers we all enjoyed.
